Retail Checker was set up with the sole purpose of providing customers with more in-depth information about a suspicious ecommerce website to inform decision making.
We understand
Our founder was scammed last year, but she is just one of many. That day she lost her money and dignity (her words). We want to stop anyone else feeling that way.
We’re a new business with one sole purpose – to provide people with the tools to help protect themselves when shopping online.

Our Founders Story:
In 2024, I fell in love with a pair of shoes on Instagram. I hadn’t heard of the retailer before but I LOVED the shoes. Being diligent, I went from Instagram to check the website using a different device. It looked legitimate and had the secure padlock in the address bar (a sign of a good business – or so I thought!) so, I bought the shoes.
A few days later the shoes hadn’t arrived. I went back to the retailer using their pop-up customer service chat function on their website. I was informed that they had a logistics issue on the day that I ordered the shoes which had since been resolved, and that the shoes would be with me shortly.
They were efficient in responding, owned their issue and I’m a reasonable person, so didn’t think any more about it.
One week later the shoes still hadn’t arrived. I headed back to the website to complain. Except that the website didn’t exist any more nor did the instagram page. I lost my money and my pride that day. I was so embarrased that I fell for the deceit, like many other victims.
So, I decided to build a service that empowers customers. A simple, easy-to-use, service that people can trust, which will help them make informed decisions.
